WORKSHOPS
& RETREATS

After years of writing coaching and book development, I learned that the hardest thing for writers to do is to prioritize sitting down to write. So I created a time where I will be available to guide writers into an hour of writing and offer support, pep talks and writing suggestions for attendees.

There will be a monthly subscription fee of $15, which gives you access to all group writing sessions.

FAQ

Gail offers 15-20 minutes of writing guidance, pep talks and suggested portals. We write for an hour and then we spend 10 minutes sharing how it went.

(PS. cultivating a vibrant, open-hearted community is our dream come true. We’re so glad you found us and truly feel that if one of our trips or events speaks to you, the people who are waiting to meet you are already signing up as well.)

No. In fact, we won’t share our writing in this group. We will only discuss the writing process and ways to strengthen our writing schedules and practice.

This is a setting for us to write together and to be accountable to our writing practice. If you’d like feedback on your writing, you can work with Gail individually.

Yes, to the best of my ability through May of 2026. Of course, unexpected events may occasionally interfere. But I am committed to hosting those days and months.

We will evaluate whether we all want to commit to this structure through the summer or take a break and pick it up again in the fall. Some writers prefer to take summers off, some prefer to hunker down. I will survey the group and make a judgment call in May.

Listen: you don’t have a week to waste when it comes to international travel. We set you up for a beautiful adventure without the legwork of having to assemble it yourself, and everything is optional. If you’d like to spend your days writing the next great novel at the local cafe and show up for meal time hangouts, we support it. If you’d like to relax and let us thoughtfully guide your days in places we know like the back of our hand, then you’ve come to the right place. We give you the framework, and your vacation can be a mix of solo or group.

Who told you this was an intellectual thang?! And who would appreciate a vacation from cooking and decision making more than a parent who hasn’t had a day off? We’re right there with you.

This is a real question we got and we’re still cackling about it.

Stop. No. We have a mix of ages and romantic statuses every year, and we will be waiting for you with open arms-- along with about 15 of your future besties.

Great question! Our chef can work with a variety of allergies and has previously customized menus to be gluten free or vegetarian, though we recommend having a general flexibility of diet so you can properly enjoy the flavors and combinations in any given place. If you are a strict vegan, these are not the trips for you. Please send us a note with your specific dietary restrictions before signing up so we can advise you on whether or not we can accommodate!

No problem! We don't think you need booze to have a great time-- we'll have non alcoholic options and have hosted at least one pregnant person every year who still had a blast.

This is not a yoga retreat, per se! We have yoga in the mornings so you can start your day feeling loosey goosey, but it's not required. Feel free to attend or stay in bed with an espresso.

This is your chance to heighten your travel wardrobe, so you feel like the effortlessly glam version of yourself that your childhood self dreamed of. Aim for comfort above all, but also know that our last night White Dinner is the chance to pull out all the stops, and we have at least one formal night as well. We’ll send a style guide once you book so you’re always prepared!

All your accommodations. All your food. A healthy amount of alcohol. Our custom welcome gifts. And turning a previously mysterious place into a second home.

Not included: flights to and from the location, any shopping or spending you’d like to do, and any additional alcohol/food you’d like to get outside of group activities. We also have optional add-ons, including personal photoshoots, available upon arrival!

What is the structure?

Do I have to read or share what I wrote?

Will feedback be given?

What does my monthly subscription give me?

Will you host these meetings two times every week?

What happens after May 28, 2026?

Access to all writing group sessions. It also introduces you to a writing community, which is hugely helpful to writers who struggle with getting to the page. And here’s the best reward: Having a financial investment to show up and write for an hour helps keep us accountable to our writing practice. We paid for it, so we’d better show up for ourselves and our writing dreams.

Afternoon:

This time is for you to spend writing and generating pages in the comfort and serenity of your private bedroom, or in the luxury of the villa and grounds, or maybe an adorable café or hilltop viewpoint nearby.

Each participant will also receive a one-hour writing consult with Gail to go over their writing, goals, and whatever questions they have about writing and publishing. These one-hour consultations take place in the afternoon.

EVENINGS

Are for group gatherings where we read what we worked on that day aloud (optional). This is a chance to share your rough first draft with other writers who are also drafting new material. This is not workshopping. We will work with Gail’s rules for how to give helpful and supportive feedback to one another.
